# 1.4 - Responsibility of All Department Personnel

> Responsibilities of all DPS personnel for policy knowledge, training, and activity requirements.

All personnel are responsible for familiarizing themselves with applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), training materials, codes of conduct, and departmental directives.

Ignorance or misinterpretation of policy shall not be accepted as a defense against disciplinary action.

Personnel are expected to meet minimum activity and training requirements as defined by departmental policy, unless an approved Leave of Absence or waiver has been granted.
