# 2.4 - Certifications & Subdivisions

> Specialty units and certifications supporting DPS operations.

Specialty units and certifications exist to support high-risk operations, advanced enforcement, and specialized investigations.

### SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics)

High-risk tactical response: barricades, hostages, armed warrant service, coordinated assaults.

### Air Operations (Air One)

Aerial support: surveillance, pursuit tracking, perimeter overwatch, search and rescue assistance.

### CID (Central Intelligence Division)

Long-term investigations: organized crime, high-value targets, intelligence gathering, digital forensics.

### GND (Gang & Narcotics Division)

Drug and gang enforcement: interdiction, surveillance, undercover operations, dismantling trafficking networks.

### K9 Division

Canine-assisted operations: building searches, narcotics detection, suspect apprehension, SAR support.

### SRU (Street Racing Unit)

Undercover enforcement: infiltrating illegal racing/boosting networks, intelligence collection, targeted interdictions.

### Interceptor Certification

Advanced driving certification authorizing high-performance interceptor use in pursuits and major vehicular crime operations.

### Motorbike Unit / Traffic Enforcement (MBU / Traffic)

Traffic control, impaired driving enforcement, crash investigations, roadway incident command.
