# 5.6 - Off-Duty Status

> Rules and restrictions governing off-duty DPS personnel.

* Officers may go off-duty at discretion
* All DPS-issued equipment must be secured
* No arrests, investigations, or MDT use while off-duty

**Exception:** Immediate threat to life — must notify command immediately.

Felony conduct while off-duty results in termination.
