# [3.1] - Field Training Program

> Roles and responsibilities within the Medical Services Field Training Program.

The Field training program is used in the Department to train cadets successfully. These Officers are in charge of Academy training, ride-a-longs, solo tests, and supervising the entire program.

### Field Training Officer, FTO

* Conducts ride-alongs with cadets
* Can check off a Rookies progression on the Roster
* Writes reports for FTIs and FTS to go over
* Assists in conducting Academy Training

### Field Training Instructor, FTI

* Conducts ride-alongs with cadets
* Can check off Cadet’s progression on the roster
* Can conduct Solo tests on all Cadets within the department
* Conducts Academy Training
* Assists in supervising the Field Training Program

### Field Training Supervisor/Head FTI, FTS

* Conducts ride-alongs with cadets
* Can check off Cadet’s progression on the roster
* Can conduct Solo tests on all Cadets within the department
* Conducts Academy Training
* Supervises the Field Training Program
