# [5.2] - Scene Command

> Scene command procedures for Medical Services incidents.

Scene command is important, yet simple. When you respond to an injured person's call, the first individual EMT or above will command the scene. Higher-ranking individuals assisting on the scene can advise the Scene Commander. The only exception to the above rule is in the event of a mass casualty. The highest-ranking member of EMS will take the lead in this situation If you are Transmitted via PD (PD TO EMS), you must stage at a safe distance and wait for a code 4 call.
