# SAMS Standard Operating Procedures

> A practical, roleplay-first guide for San Andreas Medical Services.

# San Andreas Medical Services

**Help people. Create meaningful medical roleplay. Keep it professional without making it complicated.**

SAMS personnel provide emergency medical response, treatment, and transport across San Andreas. We value patient care, scene safety, teamwork, and good roleplay over unnecessary red tape.

This handbook explains the few **required standards** every member must follow. Training guides and medical reference sheets offer assistance but do not add new disciplinary rules unless Command explicitly adopts them.

## Our expectations

* Treat patients fairly and respectfully, including suspects and people who are difficult to work with.
* Use sound judgment and provide care within your character's training and authorized equipment.
* Wear appropriate EMS uniforms, use an approved response vehicle, and communicate professionally.
* Prioritize safe scenes and meaningful interactions; never rush or artificially prolong another player's medical RP.
* Document serious incidents and coordinate with police and fire when necessary.

> [!NOTE]
>
> **Roleplay first:** EMS is intended to be approachable and enjoyable. You're trusted to use discretion. When you're uncertain, ask a senior medic rather than worrying about a technicality.

## Where to start

1. **Conduct & Appearance:** What is expected of all staff.
2. **Team & Training:** Roles, progression, and qualifications.
3. **Calls & Scene Safety:** Radios, response, triage, and scene leadership.
4. **Patient Care & Documentation:** Treatment, refusals, medical RP, and reporting.
5. **Working with Police & Special Calls:** Custody, pursuits, tasers, evidence, and threats.

The current DPS SOP and server rules control shared public-safety requirements where relevant. SAMS Command manages day-to-day medical operations.
