# 2.4 - Certifications & Subdivisions

> Specialized DPS assignments and qualifications.

Specialized assignments and qualifications support advanced operations. **Division membership is not the same as holding a certification**, and neither automatically authorizes tactics, equipment, or assignments prohibited by controlling policy.

| Division or Qualification | Primary Function |
| - | - |
| SWAT | High-risk tactical response and coordinated operations |
| Air Operations (Air One) | Aerial support, observation, and search assistance |
| CID | Long-term investigations and intelligence work |
| GND | Gang and narcotics investigations and interdiction |
| K9 | Canine detection, searches, and authorized apprehension |
| SRU | Street racing and vehicle-related investigations |
| Interceptor Certification | Authorization for designated high-performance enforcement vehicles subject to deployment restrictions |
| MBU / Traffic | Motorcycle patrol, traffic enforcement, and roadway incidents |

Qualifications, operational restrictions, and recertification are governed by the applicable **Specialized Operations** and **Field Training** policies. Membership or certification may be restricted or revoked under applicable personnel and accountability procedures.
