> Patrol assignments, duty procedures, scene management, emergency response, field contacts, arrests, and reporting requirements.

# Patrol Operations & Field Procedures

This section establishes baseline patrol expectations for sworn personnel of the **San Andreas Department of Public Safety (DPS)**, including the **Los Santos Police Department (LSPD)** and **San Andreas State Police (SAST)**. It also applies to any DPS agency activated in the future, unless an authorized department supplement provides additional requirements.

All officers shall perform their duties professionally, remain available for appropriate calls for service, and coordinate with responding personnel while following applicable department policies and San Andreas law.

## Scope

* **3.1 — Patrol Assignments & Jurisdiction:** Primary coverage areas, jurisdictional overlap, and mutual aid.

* **3.3 — General Patrol Standards:** Conduct, proactive patrol, and unit responsibilities.
* **3.4 — Scene Management & Incident Command:** Primary officer, scene leadership, and supervisory direction.
* **3.5 — Backup & Emergency Response:** Assistance requests, priority responses, and coordination.
* **3.6 — Traffic Stops & Field Contacts:** Initial contact, safe scene coordination, and enforcement discretion.

## Policy Relationship

This section provides **general patrol standards**. Detailed rules for pursuits, use of force, de-escalation, stops and frisks, evidence, impoundment, and other specialized procedures remain governed by their dedicated DPS SOP pages. Department-specific supplements may establish additional operational requirements but shall not override controlling DPS policy without authorized approval.

Officers are responsible for consulting the current versions of all applicable policies.
