Discretion Limitations
- Officers may reduce jail time or fines by a maximum of 30%.
- Hard cap applies:
- 90 months jail time maximum
- $75,000 fines maximum
Traffic & Infraction Policy
- Officers may not downgrade offenses (e.g., First Degree Speeding → Third Degree).
- The original charge remains. Reduction applies to the fine only.
- Reduced fines must be entered as a custom charge and documented in the report.
Evidence Requirement
- Speeding citations require supporting evidence (screenshot / dashcam footage).
