The Field training program is used in the Department to train cadets successfully. These Officers are in charge of Academy training, ride-a-longs, solo tests, and supervising the entire program.

Field Training Officer, FTO

  • Conducts ride-alongs with cadets
  • Can check off a Rookies progression on the Roster
  • Writes reports for FTIs and FTS to go over
  • Assists in conducting Academy Training

Field Training Instructor, FTI

  • Conducts ride-alongs with cadets
  • Can check off Cadet’s progression on the roster
  • Can conduct Solo tests on all Cadets within the department
  • Conducts Academy Training
  • Assists in supervising the Field Training Program

Field Training Supervisor/Head FTI, FTS

  • Conducts ride-alongs with cadets
  • Can check off Cadet’s progression on the roster
  • Can conduct Solo tests on all Cadets within the department
  • Conducts Academy Training
  • Supervises the Field Training Program
