Unless SAMS-certified, officers may only provide basic life-saving measures such as:
  • Applying pressure to bleeding wounds
  • Tourniquet application (if trained)
  • Moving a patient only under the Movement Clause
SAMS-certified officers must follow SAMS procedures. Failure to comply may result in certification revocation.
