Required Records
- Daily Logs: feeding times, hydration, rest, exercise, training type, deployment activity, and any anomalies (injuries, behavioral changes).
- Monthly Reports: summary of all deployments, finds, false alerts, and training hours.
- Quarterly Reviews: performance evaluation including skill retention, loyalty, stamina, and obedience under distraction.
- Veterinary Records: vaccination, medical exams, treatment, injury reports, and vet notes.
- Equipment Logs: cage inspections, leash/harness replacements, vehicle modifications, and maintenance records.
- Deployment Logs: each sniff or apprehension event recorded with date, location, case number, result, and outcome.
- Incident Reports: any dog injury, escape, misconduct, or bite must be reported immediately to the Senior K-9 Officer and reviewed by the Head of K-9 Personnel.
Performance Analytics
The Head of K-9 Personnel compiles quarterly statistics on:- Detection accuracy (hit vs. false alert rate)
- Training compliance hours
- Handler attendance and shift logs
- K-9 health markers
- Total operational hours and call-outs per region
